BSkyB
Broadcaster BSkyB is currently deploying the Smith Edison panel van in its engineering fleet.
BSkyB operate 1,850 vans for its engineers, plus a fleet of 400 cars for team leaders and board members.
The broadcaster’s decision to integrate Smith's electric vehicles into its engineering fleet is part of BSkyB's award winning carbon neutral strategy.
BSkyB has recently reduced it's annual carbon emissions from 44,000 tonnes to 36,000 tonnes and has set a further target to reduce its CO2 generation by 255,000 tonnes by the year 2011.
Transport and travel make up 47% of the company's total carbon footprint.
The Smith Edison panel van, as deployed by BSkyB, is designed to provide maximum performance in any closed urban application.
The Edison is perfectly suited for lower mileage, intra-city operations on congested roads and duty cycles with many stops and starts.
