More and more suppliers are now being asked to complete a full 'supply tender' when attempting to win new business. This has previously been required when tendering for council & government contracts but it is increasingly becoming common business practice in many industry sectors.
The vast majority of tenders now include a section on 'Environmental Policy'; asking for the potential supplier/contractor to provide details of their 'Environmental policy' for the following 5 years or more.
If a supplier can show that they are actively reducing their carbon emissions, this can be a significant factor in the decision making process and will give you an edge over the competition.
